Adrian Dangerfield talks about the inner and outer man. The outer self (man) is what we present to the world - it is our personality and our appearance. The inner self (man) is what we feel in our heart. This is the spiritual and unseen part of us. The spirit of man / the heart of man / the conscience – these are all where the treasure is. These are the place where Christ should dwell in us. Adrian points out that we need to develop the inner man as opposed to the outer.

John Pearce tells us that those who choose to be baptised become children of God chosen by Him. There is a great privilege in being a chosen people by God. For to be chosen by God means you are unique, you have something to contribute and you are wanted (loved) by God.
